![]() Keep in mind that if you send Hushmail from your email program to someone who doesn’t have Hushmail, and they haven’t already set up a passphrase, it will be sent as a regular email without encryption. Once that’s accomplished, you’ll be able to send encrypted email to that person from your third-party email program. ![]() However, if the person you’re sending to doesn’t have Hushmail, you can still send encrypted emails as long as you send an email to them from your webmail first so they can set up a passphrase. If you’re sending to someone who also has a Hushmail account, your emails to each other are automatically encrypted, even when using a third-party email program. It won’t be synced with our server, so when you sign in over webmail or another device, you won’t see anything you’ve done in your email program. All the email you open, respond to, or compose and send will only show up on one device. POP only allows you to access the contents of your inbox. ![]() Any changes you make to your email or folders in your email program will be visible when you sign in to our webmail. We recommend choosing IMAP because it allows you to access any folder in your Hushmail account through your third-party email program and manage your email and folders on our servers at the same time. ![]() All you have to do is connect to your Hushmail account through our POP or IMAP servers.
